Eclipse
The Twilight movies inspired millions of passionate fans to see all the sequels that told the supernatural romance story, but like with all such fantasies, the Twilight series introduced some rules consistent in the story world. Even non-fans of the series know: vampires in the Twilight series shimmer and sparkle in sunlight!
With two movies behind them to help establish the look of this supernatural sparkling effect, somehow one shot of Edward the vampire in a sunny field with Bella lacks this sparkle. The shot appears in Eclipse, the third film in the series. It’s not the worst blunder, but for series fans, it’s an inconsistent flaw!
Next up is an example where a mistake in the script led to scenes in a big movie being shot perfectly…wrong…
The Goonies
The Goonies is a 1985 movie that was a popular adventure comedy and also a financial success at the box office. Part of the plot involves the discovery of a 1973 Topps Lou Gehrig baseball card in Chester Copperpot’s wallet.
All sounds good and reasonable, so far, right? Only it turns out that Chester’s body had been there since the 1930s, which is around 40 years before the card would be produced. The Goonies is still a great movie and even if this seems like a big blunder, at least it doesn’t wreck the enjoyment of the film.
