Hard to believe, but the doctors who treated a car accident victim said the tight dress Zoe Turner, 21, wore to a Christmas party may have prevented her from being fatally injured.
The dress was tight enough to keep bones in place when a cement mixer rammed the taxi she and three friends took home after the party.
The explanation was of how the:
“bodycon” dress “acted like an old-fashioned corset” and kept things in their proper place at crunch time.
Turner was fortunate, it seems, despite a broken pelvis, fractured vertebra, and a broken sternum. She said regarding the accident:
I was in unimaginable pain. My body was aching and I just remember thinking – I have to get my belt off. The pain and restriction my dress was causing was unbearable and I stumbled out of the car.
She and everyone else in the taxi survived the accident.
