It Takes 7 Years to Digest Chewing Gum
There’s a common belief that it takes at least seven years to digest chewing gum if you accidentally swallow it. Most parents tell their kids not to swallow gum, but they have on control over it if it does happen unless they forbid their children not to chew gum. Some people have gone so far as to say if too much gum is swallowed then it will build up in the body over time and eventually lead to a serious illness or even death.
If you’re not aware, chewing gum, or bubble gum consists of sweeteners, softeners, corn syrup, and a rosin gum base that makes the chewy part. Four of the ingredients will dissolve while chewing the gum but the gum base will not. If you swallow this part after you’ve chewed on the gum for a lengthy period of time and suddenly find you’ve swallowed it you don’t have to worry about it sticking around in your gut for seven years. You can sigh with relief knowing that the gum will pass through your body’s waste system within two days, similar to the way corn does.
Walt Disney is Somewhere Frozen at the Walt Disney Theme Park
It’s mind boggling to think that there’s a legend out there claiming that Walt Disney had himself frozen so he could wait for a cure for lung cancer to be discovered in 1966. This is not the case, however, because his family has said that he passed away without even knowing his illness was terminal. Since he didn’t know about his condition when he died there’s no way he could have made any arrangements like the legend suggests.
Despite the internet claiming that Walt Disney is contained somewhere underneath the Pirates of the Caribbean ride or hidden away somewhere else in the park, he is resting in peace at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles.
