Yeah almost… good for a lifespan of 120 years. Would you want it?
Perhaps the short 2-minute video on the next page will sway you.
It tells of researcher Dr. Maxim Skulachev, who is involved in a project at the Moscow State University where scientists are using a new type of antioxidant that targets cellular mitochondria.
The pill that has been developed appears to counter the aging process.
“It sounds like something from a science fiction film, but a pill to counter the ageing process could become a reality.
Scientists in Russia are testing a new formula, which they claim can delay the start of the ageing process.
They hope the tablet, which is being tested on rats, mice, fish and dogs, will allow people to live to at least 120.”
Granted, you won’t live to be 800, it is explained, and tests have not led to an significant life span increase; however, delays in the onset of ageing has been noted says Dr. Skulachev.
That’s significant as even the few oldest individuals fall short of those number of years. As for quality of life…? Well, check the video, to get an answer on that.
“If it turns out that diseases develop more slowly, our idea to fight aging through mitochondria is the right one, added Dr Skulachev, who has been working to perfect his treatment for decades.
It will be possible to postpone old age.”
